Distance: 8km Rogoznica is a restful Mediterranean place in the heart of the central Adriatic. It has at its disposal 50 kilometres of extremely indented coast thus representing one of the most desirable places for vacation. Sailors and boaters are very fond of it because it is known for its exceptional beauty and safety among the other harbours in the Adriatic.
The very centre of Rogoznica is located on the island linked with the shore by a causeway built in the late 1880, whereas the settlement of the island began in 1418. Old, stone made houses on the promenade give Rogoznica a real Mediterranean charm. A big part of the island is covered with pineforest, which makes it a perfect place for long walks or any other forms of recreation. Vicinity of the national parks Kornati and Krka makes the stay in Rogoznica even more interesting. In summertime, the tourist board organizes a number of entertaining and cultural events, the most important of which Ribarska fešta (Fishermen’s festivity) and Večer klapa (Evening of Dalmatian traditional songs).
